    Height of a BFL?

I'm having a fatbike frame built.

I have my geometry pretty much sorted, as well as all the features and specs. I am planning on running BFLs on Fat shebas. At least in the winter. My only issue is not knowing the external diameter of a BFL (on a 80mm rim, or similar). I guessed at 559 + (2x110) = 779. But that gave me a massive number, and seat tube clearance issues. I was hoping to have chainstays 452mm long to the center of a PMW rocker drop out. Which would give 8mm adjustment both forward and back. But with the CS at 460mm the BFL still looks pretty close to the seat tube.

    Any help appreciated.

I don't know if this helps but the newest Fatback has a cs of 460mm. I believe they had tp lengthen it from last years model which was 450 or 452mm for BFL clearance issues.

Here is a pic of a BFl on a 70mm Uma II at about 8psi. there is 3/4 of an inch of clearance to the seat tube, It looks like less in the pic. My not so accurate measurement of the BFL shown here is 737 mm (29 inches.)

Just measured my BFL on a GFS and at 6ish psi it was 29.25" or 743mm.

Thanks a million for taking the time to help me out folks.

It has helped me massively. Looks like I can stick to my desired 452mm CS, rocker drop-out, center spot.

    Sweet!

I've broken my budget on the frame, and still need hubs, spokes, seatpost, brakes, fork, headset, and a rear mech. So the final bike will be while away. This is my rough BikeCad mock up. (I'm 5'7")
