Having trouble getting Hodags to inflate....Tips?

Mounting Hodags on Mulefut 80 and cannot get them to inflate. I'm using FattyStrippers
The tire seem a little loose on the rim.

    Any experience out there?

Did you try a strap or rope to push the center of the tire down and beads out like this:

I have always found strippers expensive and not that satisfying...Come to think of it, the product is aptly named. (Yes, I have tried them, but NEVER would with Mulefut.)

Haven't tried that yet, will tonight.
Was also considering installing and inflating a tube then just releasing one side of the tire to remove tube.
Was just curious to see if anyone else had similar issues installing the same combo.

mulefute v1 or v2 rims? I have been hearing the V2 rims are looser than the V1 rims.

    27.5 v1 65mm and they are TIGHT w/ the hodag's
    27.5 v1 80mm and they are tight w/ vanhelga's

Tube to set a Fatty Stripper? That would be a new one on me. I guess it could work.

Oh, you are using an air compressor, right? Not many set with a floor pump.

Did you remove the valve core for max air flow?

Remove core, strap around tire, air compressor, add soapy water sprayed around the bead or sealant brushed on around the edge.

use the actual Sun Ringle rim strips and tape. Hodags and Mulefut should be an easy setup

What I do is put two layers of sill foam from Home Depot around the rim to take up space, with my getto tubeless over the foam. Can be a bit of a pain to mount the tire but it is tight enough to make inflation possible with a floor pump.

The foam is wider than the rim so you need to cut it to width.
