    Ground Control 4.0 vs 4.6

Just picked up a FatBoy as a Christmas present for my wife. When I picked it up I totally missed that it had 4.0's on it. Obviously a mix up since it's a standard Fatboy and should have the 4.6. I've only ever run the 4.6 that came on my Fatboy, wondering if anyone has had a chance to try the 4.0 and what the impressions are. I can swap them out through the dealer but need to do it before she rides it , so a "ride it and try them" is out of the question.
BTW, this bike will only be ridden in snow, in Colorado.

There are a lot of tire questions on this forum, many of them completely unnecessary. However, I don't believe I've ever actually read a question about how two tires compare - both the skinny and regular version, of the same tire.
it's a challenge some of us are ultimately worthy of.

yeah, yeah, I tried a search and came up with nothing. New to Fat and not up to speed on all the different tires.

I don't think there is much weight penalty to go with the 4.6" one.

I just got a comp carbon for Christmas and did the same thing. Swapped the 4.0 out for the 4.6s before riding. Switched the tubes out at the same time so I actually lost weight.

I haven't seen a weight on the 4.0" GC, but if you are looking at using for low traction conditions like snow and sand, I'd go with the larger 4.6" tire. The 4.0" should be lighter and will probably hold an edge in rolling resistance if you are just looking for general trail use though.

    4.6 Tire.

If it matters, you will have a lower bottom bracket height with the 4.0
