    Fatbiking alaska’s gulf coast video.

Eric Parsons and Dylan Kentch didn't create the fatbike/packraft/sufferfest genre. But they did revive it ~10+ years ago, and they've completed a number of ambitious trips since doing so.

One of their trips, what folks in this little niche of geekdom like to call the Lost Coast North, inspired me to get a packraft and start down a similar road 5+ years ago.

Eric finally finished the video from said trip. Enjoy it here:

Ironic and awesome that Eric has finally posted this as a group of us are headed toward Anchorage right now to attempt a variation on that same trip.

    Cheers,

    MC

    Awesome

Will be following this one closely.

When the salmon are done, this is a trip the wife and I would like to do.

For now, it would just be nice to have my bikes aboard for closures.

Enjoy the gulf coast, Its a toss up between south east Alaska for the mot beautiful place on earth. Hope the weather holds nice, ant the trip safe.

    Kodiak

Sitting in my wheelhouse in Kodiak. Made the mistake of showing this thread to my wife. She politely informed me that, a new bike × a full gear setup + all travel costs would be cheaper than this year's salmon season has been.

I follow these threads closely, have wanted to do a spring trip from Port hedin to chignik before the alders overgrow.

Have ferry hopped around pws on the back of my bike, aside from some torrents of rain quite possibly the most beautiful thing ever.
