    Fat Tire on the Beach!

    Just thought Id share..

I took my Fat Tire Dolomite onto the beach in Oregon near Astoria.

It was quite fun and awesome. Tires nearly flat and I rolled with ease. We will be going again early next year and staying at a cabin in Ft. Stevens which will be nice being right there on the beach!

    Beach Fat

Loving the pics on this thread! That Dolomite is hot!! and ou2mame, your white Boris is making me want a 2nd Fat Bike!! I am seriously considering a Pearl White Boris X5!! I finally got my Fatty and my trusty Boogie Board out on a NYC Beach! I don't have a special Boogie Board Bike holder or nothing. I just mounted it against the bike and secured it with two elastic tie down straps. This shot is from the boardwalk.....I had to stop to get a Burger and some Cheese Fries!!

It's a solid bike totally worth 600 bucks.. I love the white so much. I did a 40mm stem some riser bars and a 32t chainring, and its perfect. Tires I haven't decided on yet.. Waiting for others to experiment on sizes so I know what my options are. Nice boogie board holder when I lived in fl my dad made me a surf board carrier for my beach cruiser out of pvc and some other stuff.. Worked really well

I was wondering if a fat bike is fun to ride on the beach here in Florida, and with the occasional trail rides at local parks. Was looking at the moongoose dolomite but its steel wouldnt that rust quick?

mongoose, was thinking of getting my nephew the kids version but thinking 30+ lbs might be too much as his first mtb.

I ride my fb on the beaches in NY.. I'm from Florida and id think you could ride one there too lol

As for the dolomite.. Its not really the rust being an issue, but the components. I've seen videos of kids riding the little 20" fb they make, and with the gears they should be able to move it. Do they make 20" fat tires? Like better ones? That's what I would look to replace drop some weight and get better traction.
