    Fat Bikes in the Underdown

For you Wi people I just recieved this email from the dude that runs the Underdown just north of Merrill. Not that it's huge news but it's always nice to have permission!

    Hi-
I'm the snowshoe and bike guy for the Underdown. I let our county folks know that I'm OK with fat bikes on the snowshoe trails. There were a couple days last year when I could ride the whole system to Mist Lake with 2.3" studs. Just stay off the ski trails.

I'll probably knock in and sign the snowshoe trails around Christmas. Jan 14th is the organized showshoe hike, and I put the 21st down as a tentative group ride on bikes, depending on snowshoe conditions. 4 Rhinelander folks just bought them, but I'm waiting a few years.

My father-in-law owns 1,500 acres of land in Hurley, WI which is only 1.5 hours from Merrill. At this point if more places don't get awesome and do what Underdown is doing, I'm going to sell my body on the corner and fund my own snowbike-only trail system.
