    The Dude's Dead

I had noticed that the Dude was no longer listed on their US website and they confirmed that they will not be offering a 2019 Dude. Too bad, I love mine. It is a lot of bike for the money.

Too bad. I've really enjoyed mine these last two years both rigid and with Mastodon.

For info - all 3 models are still showing availability and/or delivery dates from Germany on the UK site.
What a perfect waste of time

From what I can gather they shot themselves in the foot in the States at least. There always seemed to be waiting lists or shortage of stock despite being one of the best deals out there.
Or maybe uptake on direct marketing has been a bit slower in the States!

Despite? Being one of the best deals can lead to shortage of stock and wait lists.

Yup. Probably should have raised price to slow demand in the US.

Dude put pressure on all fat prices. Even if you didn't buy one, it made your fattie cheaper indirectly.

I get your point. Though I seem to recall other threads; where firstly when they first came out people had to wait for ages, with many opting for something else rather than wait, or when they did get them in stock, they were often in very small numbers/ limited sizes.
My gut feel was if they'd had a better supply chain they could have sold a lot more

Fat bike saturation. Sales have slowed dramatically for most brands.

I bought one last fall and I'm glad I did. Hard to find a light carbon fat bike that doesn't break the bank and this one did. I ordered a medium and had it in 3 days.

I feet lucky looking back that I happened to find and order during one of the brief "in stock" moments 1.5 years ago. Ordered and also had delivered quickly (during a snow storm). Then was sold out for many months straight.
