"Do These Tires Make My Butt Look Skinny?"

Built up an XS Mukluk for the wife. It's a sweet bike! I even like riding it - it handles just like an overgrown BMX. We'll be goint up to Wisconsin and doing some beach riding in a couple of weeks.

    It's mostly stock, except:

    1. I put cut-outs in the rim with a 1-1/8" chassis punch. That was a lot of work. Also installed blue rim strips.
    2. BFL tires.
    3. MWOD Crankset to clear the above tires.
    4. Crank Brothers 50/50 pedals which I hate but they were the only platform pedals I had around.

    Anyway, just thought I'd share:

    Nice bike.

But more importantly I notice there is a Great Lakes six pack in your cabinet. Conways Irish Ale or Edmund Fitzgerald, by the looks of it?

Yep, there's always something from GLBC around here. That one is Lake Erie Monster Double IPA, one of my favorite seasonals...

Any picks of the punch you used for the wheels? Any damage to the wheels when doing the mod?

Yeah, that's a Selle SMP. I kinda like those.

No problem. It's just a Greenlee Heavy-duty punch. I had to sand a radius into the receiving cup and then pull the slug towards the center of the wheel as shown. I still had to use a deburr tool to clean up the edges, so I'm not convinced a hole saw isn't the better option. Either way, they came out just fine...

Actually I'd be interested in suggestions. We are heading up during the week of the 4th, but will mainly be in the lower eastern part of the state. Last time I was up there I stopped in Manitowoc and found a few miles of nice beach. It got kinda rocky after a while, but it was still a very fun ride.

Any suggestions in that part of the state? We'll be stopping in Chicago and Green Bay.

id say Port Washington is the most pleasant beach to ride between Chicago and Green Bay. really smooth beach for about 9 miles, then back to the car. However, fellow locals and I have been discovering more and more beach to ride every weekend it seems. theres atleast 3 parks in milwaukee county that have beach to ride. One of which is one of the most technical bike rides ive ever done.

i hear the bars in milwaukee arent too shabby either. just sayin'.
