Anyone heard of this fatbike, seems like pretty good value but I'm new to these types of bikes. They sell for $799

I'm also curious about this bike as I'm wanting a fatbike for my Winter commute. How is this compared to the Norco 6.3 fatbike?

If it goes on sale during sportcheck's annual spring bike sale, I think I'm going to go for it.

Same. They usually do a 25% off friends and family in May. Might be a great $600 buy!

I think you'd be better off with one of the comparably priced BD models, but I haven't seen the bike in person.

Aren't BD bikes kind of a pain to get into Canada?

I picked it up to see how heavy it is at Sportcheck, it is by no means a lightweight bike, but I'd say 37-40lbs maybe? Isn't Kawasaki Sumo close to 50lbs?

Yes, both Framed and BD bikes are a pain to get to Canada, possible but not hassle free.

Currently, as far as I know Diadora Artico for $799 is the cheapest new fat bike available in Canada followed by Norco Bigfoot 6.3 for $1100.

That's very good news, I'm sure quality tires and tubes will drop another 4lb at least. Where did you find the bike? I tried couple of stores in Mississauga area with no luck. Are they listing the bike at $999 or $799?

I've seen one in person in Edmonton about a month ago still for $999. Website shows $799. For $799 I would still recommend 6.3 if budget allows imo. If it goes 25% off from $799, with Q tubes and few cheap upgrades, it would be tough to beat.

Walmart sells a fat bike for $250...other cheap models as well.

    Wicked Moose:

    Walmart Canada

    Polaris:

    Walmart Canada

Just saying they have cheaper BSO's.

If you're going to spend $799 get a Framed. WAY better components.

True, but that would be $1100+ CAD easy by the time it gets here with shipping and USD to CAD conversion unfortunately.

The only realistic option is to ship a BD bike to a UPS store thatís near the border and pick that up in person.

Or a shipping depot like this one in Montana. Too bad it is still 6 hours away from me one way. I would think there are other depots along the border out east?

Montana Shipping Outlet... your resource for professional shipping, receiving, packing and business services!

I wonder if they would re-ship to Canada to avoid a road trip...

They do have them in Buffalo. I know people who assembled the bikes after the pickup, rode them for an hour to get it nice and dirty and drove back with no questions asked at the border.

If this bike goes on sale at around $600 mark, I will not bother with BD.

I visited 3 Sportchek stores yesterday in Toronto for the sale, none had the bike in stock.

I wasn't looking to buy it anyway, just saying.

For its original $999 price maybe but for $500 the Artico is a good choice in Canada. $6-700 cheaper then the Norco

I have the base 6.3 Norco, currently for sale actually. I agree, for $999, Norco would be a better choice, but for around $500-$600, it is hard to beat especially in Canada where BD bikes and Framed bikes are not easy to get.

How do you like the bike so far? I'd be interested to hear a short term review at some point...

They're down to $699 now and if you sign up for the email deals the first one includes a 10% off coupon. Given the price hike for 2016s across the board due to our dollar's fall since last year...

If that is what you are advising, that could be a very bad mistake!

Quebec is the only province where SportCheck doesn't ship/sell. They operate under the Intersport banner here, and the same bike is 999$ in Intersport stores. No deals or coupons either. Bummer!

I measured a 19 inch today. 21.5 inch actual toptube so the ETT is about 22.25".
