Chain Reaction Flat Top 80mm rims, experiences please :)

    Hi Guys,

I would be grateful to hear of peoples experiences with these rims, preferably the drilled variety.

What sort of weight are they ?

Are they a good strong rim, clydeworthy and usable for more than just sand and snow ?

Do they give good float / tyre width ?

Are they suitable for running tubless at all ?

Any other experiences and thoughts welcome.

    Kind regards,
    Dr FG

I've been a big fan of my undrilled 100mm FT. I'm using tubes so the comparison is off there, too. But it's been a very good rim for xc and general use. It appears to be more robust than the RD or Clownshoe and considerably better than the Fat Sheba I have in the rear. I would definitely recommend the FT rim.

Very light, a little over 800 grams. Looser bead fit, not good for tubeless. If you ask me, it is too early to say any set up is good for tubeless. No problems for me so far.
I proudly ride for these guys.
