Capitol Bicycles Squatch Fat bike - Build Completed

Not sure if they have been discussed before.

Anyone have one? What do you think?

Steel frame, hand made in the USA.

I may have one coming soon...

I like the look of steal frames, and those look pretty clean. I like the azure color.

My gripes are that the headtube doesn't look like it would accommodate tapered forks ( but I couldn't tell from the pics, and not listed in geo).

Things I noted in the pictures were that the bb shell was not faced, and that there appeared to be a scratch in the head tube of the azure complete build (the scratch comment is kinda goofy I know).

I felt like the complete build price was on the high side considering some of the specs, but hope hubs were a nice touch.

Longish stays and I would check if it has a removable der. hanger. Can't tell from the pics but it doesn't look like it but it does look to have a 44mm head tube which is good.

I went ahead and got the frame.

    44mm headtube, removable der. hanger.

Paint is gorgeous but fragile as I have noticed.

The silly name and the blah blah blah about how 2 guys no-one has heard of don't like the geometry of every other fat bike really turns me off. Because they only know how to build bikes with proper mountain bike geometry in the mountainous region of Illinois. But that's just me.

    Thanks guys!

Have to say I agree with the frame builder and all yada yada yada about how the bike rides and handles. This thing really feels like a MTB hardtail with only difference od higher weight and some over/under steer and that's mainly on pavement. I'll have some fun with this!

BTW is is 27.5 lbs righ now:
