Heading to the Cape Saturday and I am reading reports that biking is prohibited on the National sea shore. People have assured me it's ok but a guy was ticketed in May for riding his fat bike on the beach. I thought I was all set but now what?
Where can I ride my fat bike on the cape legally?

I was there in September last year; when out at Provincetown to go Whale watching, there were lots of people with their cars / trucks on the beach. The road down the airport gives you good access with lots of parking.

So I guess if you can drive on the beach, cycling should be ok.

I was told that from Memorial day to Labor day is off limits to ride on public beaches. That being said I have got up early and chased the groomer for a couple hours and stopped when people were setting up to hang at the beach.

Why not ride all the great single track down here. I ride with a group that's 100% fat and many CC NEMBA riders often ride fat. Check the CC NEMBA Facebook page for scheduled rides. There's always a regular ride on Weds and Friday at 5:00 at Trail of Tears.

tons of riding in and around the national seashore without riding on the beaches. old ancient ways all up and down the lower cape between rte 6 and the ocean. lots of good tight twisty singletrack as well. go from coast guard beach to pamet in truro and beyond.

rode sunday and monday with some old pals in yarmouth and tot. so much fun on the fatty. too easy. couldn't believe how overgrown most of the trails have become in the last 7 years tho

if yer headed north, keep the ocean on yer right, and rte 6 on yer left. reverse that if heading south.

any roads that lead from rte 6 to the ocean will have signs in the form of trails and dirt roads crossing them all over the place. pick one or 15 and go explore. south wellfleet pays big dividends to those that keep their eyes peeled

Thanks. Dirt/gravel roads and mild trails are my wife's thing for the Fat bike. We will hit the rail trail on the Hybrids to get to the Chocolate Sparrow!

I found bobkorn? He was on a beach at the Cape riding his Fat bike tonight. I can't disclose the exact location as it may incriminate him, myself and my wife. Fear not the Plovers are safe.

Hey bobkorn, we got a two hour ride in on the bay side this morning at low tide. What a ball. Got stopped about ten times by people wanting to know what the. Bikes were and how to get one. It was cool. Thanks again for the help and the ride this week.

We were at the beach down the street from Cobies restaurant.
No one would show us the secret trails obviously for fear of town people retribution. We promise, we would not tell any one else about them.
Alas, the vacation is over until next year. I feel we are getting closer every year to the secret trails. Maybe next year.

I'd show you the secret trails, but it would be a one way trip!
