    Build question (chain install)

I am putting together a 9zero7 that came with a build kit.
I am using an x7 derailer a 10 speed cassette and a sram chain. The chain has 114 links the way it came in the package.
question is should the chain be shortened as shown in the paperwork that came with the chain?
    Thanks

Depends on the biggest cog on the cassette. With the chain on the big ring front and big cog rear the rear derailleur pulley's should form a straight line ,(there abouts), perpendicular to the floor. You may have to shorten the chain to achieve this.

I remember reading that you put the chain on both big cogs and meet it together. Then add 2 links.
