Bash Guard Option For Stock Cranks on Pugsley?

Looking for a bash guard to swap out for the stock cranks in place of the large chain ring. What are some of you guys using?

Welp, you're going to need to know your BCD for the ring you're replacing. E. thirteen, race face, salsa, blackspire, spot etc. all make guards once you know your bcd and size of your max chainring.

I have a Spot guard on mine but I'm using sweet ass old school RF turbines on mine which are 94 bcd.

The stock cranks are 104bcd, so find whichever one you like, as there are a ton of options out there. It depends on if you want to actually USE it as a bash guard or not. If not, there are plenty of lightweight options.

I'm using the matching Truvativ one myself. http://www.pricepoint.com/detail/196...p=075%20TRUCG9

Thanks for the feedback and suggestions. What tooth count did you guys go with? I assume you want to match the size of the middle ring?

Yup, the stock middle ring is 32T, so any 32T bashguard will work well, or you can size up in case you ever want to go 34T. You just don't want one smaller than the ring you're trying to protect.

I have a Mukluk and if I took off the 44t and replaced it with a bash ring how much of a weight savings is it? I never use the big ring anyway, so why not?

I expect most bash guards weigh the same or more than the outer ring...Net weight savings; ~zero.

Thanks again for the feedback. I went ahead and ordered a Salsa Tooth Fairy, just looks plain cool! I don't even use the outer ring, so it's a fair trade off IMO.
