    Anyone Seen Arisun Tires?

Bike shop close to my house, owner is an awesome guy. He knows I build wheels and I'm all about fat bikes. He showed me these Arisun Big Fatty tires he got a deal on. Said I could have as many as I want for 28 bucks apiece.
120 TPI, folding bead... Too good to be true.
They'd be PERFECT for entry level people that balk at prices of some of the stuff.
    Tire felt pretty nice.

I have a pair of the smoothys I got off eBay for like 40 bucks- they seem fine, well-made, nothing special but it's fun to have a pair of slicks around.

The only Arisun I have experience with is the Panaracer Fat B Nimble. Same tire.

FBN's were made of papier mache.

They seem to- decent bead and they were certainly cast nice and straight (not lumpy tread casting like some cheaper tires).

Had a set of the 29x2.8 studded ones.

Like others said, they seem like decent quality, competent tires. The studs were basic steel, and low in count, but they set up tubeless well, ran true, and did what tires should.

Likely not the most amazing tires you can toss on, but in a pinch or on a budget, I'd not worry a bit....

I have the 2.8 sharktooth and they seem very good for the price. If they made it in a non-studded, I would probably use them as an all around tire (when not using the shartooth or DHR/DHF combo).

Thanks, fellas. Every once in a while I get someone that wants a bike built and they get sticker shock. 90% of them get past it and take my advice and get good tires.
One example, this kid I work with keeps asking about fat bikes but balks at the price. I keep telling him not to buy a dept store bike. He won't be happy with it. I search for sale frames or used frames and just showed him these tires and he's starting to look like he'll pull the trigger.
I told him, start out with these, see what kind of riding you like and then after you've recovered from the initial purchase, you can buck up for some more specific rubber.

I also had an FBN. Hated it. Didn't roll well, and gave an oddly harsh ride for a fat tire. Got rid of it.

Mine never even made it to the trail. I realized that tire and I were not going to get along as I was mounting it.
