Bonking ... not feelin' well All dressed up nowhere to go - NYC

Waste of studs on fat tires. Last week the race was cancelled - blizzard. This week - not enough snow. Willing to drive up to 5 hours from NYC just to enjoy snow riding. Any hints? TIA

head N 3 1/2 hours to lodging (one of the hotels in town)and food (ADK Pub and Brewery)in Lake George. There's trails nearby (5 mile drive S from the village) at Gurney Lane and at Brandt Lake( 15 miles N of village.)

    Guaranteed to be snow there.

Plenty of snow in the Rochester/Finger Lakes region too.

Was borderline unrideable due to being cold fluffy powder that didn't compress all that well. But with 45F and a bit of rain Wednesday, now more fresh on top? It's pretty damn good.

Was going to hit Gurney Lane today but I'll have to wait until tomorrow. I'm betting it's icy and bumpy. Some of the trails are being groomed this year so we'll see how smooth they are.

Gurney is supposed to be riding pretty good right now with all the grooming. I'm going to give it a run Sunday morning. Kalabus Perry in Saratoga is groomed, rode it this morning and it was lots of fun.

Shit. If I'd known you were serious about today. I wouldv'e been there too. Are you staying in the area tonight. There's the Funky Ice Fest happening in Lake George village to start the Winter Carnival this year.

Rode it this morning. PERFECT riding. FYI avoid 'E21' trail.. It's groomed , but I'm the only sucker that tried it. First set of tracks for a reason.

Glad you enjoyed it! I was there today in the late afternoon...and yes, the conditions were great! The advent of a groomer this year is a plus as I have never seen these trails in such good shape. It's almost too easy to ride and takes some of the difficulty out of the experience.
