Spend week with kids on bikes (EAST COAST) - East coast places to go...

Spring break is coming up and thinking of loading the car with bikes and go with two little boys (8 , 10) do some mountain biking. 4-6 days probably ideal to keep the still interested.
Any of you did this on EAST COAST and can recommend places to go to between NY and South Carolina.

Thinking of nice outdoor location/ could change place one; sleeping probably motels for ease of planing and packing.
Most important- nice trails, that offer choice of easy terrain but also a bit of challenge for improvement. Other outdoor activities are only plus.
Timing is mid April for 2019.
Never done this and wonder what you can recommend as far as planning/ places/ experiences...
Both boys have started riding singletrack last year, have good bike but limited on riding experience..... for sure not much leg power for big hills.
    Thanks

You have Pocahontas state park near Richmond. Campground right in the middle of trails. Raystown lake in PA

Agree 100%. I have taken my 10 and 12 y/o to ride there a few times. Also in the area is Jackrabbit trails in Hayesville NC.

DuPont! Lots of access points to easily reach different areas. Has a fun kids skills area, rides to huge waterfalls, gravel trails, singletrack trails which handle rain well. Slickrock riding but unless your kids are beasts you'll likely want to avoid those trails (or hike them). Waterfalls everywhere.

Can't beat Dupont and most of the stuff around ashville. Also surprisingly Tampa is quiet good, especially for kids with Alafia, Boyette, 3 top notch bmx tracks, and a world class skate park.

I think raystown lake would be perfect. The have a pump/skills track that is great for all skill levels too! My 5 year old rode it last year. Trails are more manageable and not a ton of chunky rock gardens
