I have a 2.5 maxxis shorty on my insurgent and it fits no problem. I think a 2.6 reckon will fit but will be a bit tight.

If you look at the last page on the insurgent booyah forum you will see on the last page a guy mounted 2.6 on the rear of his (the rekon)

That guy was me. Yeah, no issues so far. Love the DHF 2.6, Rekon 2.6 combo right now. Super grippy, rolls better than my last set (squared off tires I believe), and feels like about 5-10mm more of suspension. I have even ridden in a decent rainstorm (i.e. mud), and didn't have any issues.

Sorry, just wanted to confirm you are running the 2.6 Rekon on the rear correct? No issues with rocks or junk scraping up frame between chainstay and tire?

Yep no issues. Granted, I live in Southern California - so no real mud

Yes, I included pics of the rear clearance on the Booyah thread.

I didn't realize Maxxis is now making the Minion DHF in a 2.6 as well. Any idea how this differs from the 2.5 WT, other than claiming to be 0.1 inch wider?

I'm running the 2.5 WT's up front with a Minion SS out back, but I don't think the SS is running at it's full potential in terms of speed/low rolling resistance due to its squared off profile on a 741 rim. The Rekon looks as though it could be a good option for a more rounded profile.
