    Ninja Offering

Ordered an offering a week ago from Fanatik. I feel like a kid waiting for Christmas to come...but I have no idea when it will ship. Anyone else in the same boat?

My build parts list goes like this:

Offering size Large Black (Iím 6í on the dot)
Push 11/6 with spring for weight and kit up to 215lbs
2018 Fox 36 performance black stanchions, grip 3 pos dampener, with Push coil conversion, 150mm travel
    Enve M7 35mm bar, 25mm rise
    RaceFace 40mm Turbine stem
    Guide Ultimate Brakes
    Deity Knuckleduster Grips
    XTR shifter and rear mech
Bike Yoke Revive 160mm dropper (I think the 185 was too much drop on my last bike, and I got a crazy cheap deal on it)
    Deity Ti Speedtrap
Carbon 29 35mm Id China rims on hope pro4 hubs
Also going to try my 27.5 30mm inner width Roval Traverse carbon wheels
    E13 trs race cassette 9-46
Race Face Next SL carbon cranks
Wolf tooth camo 30t chainring set up
    Oneup aluminum pedals

Everything is going to be black... like a Ninja!

    Thoughts? Ideas? Suggestions?

Know exactly how you feel. Ordered my frame 2 weeks ago from Competitive Cyclist. Size large frame in black. Mine is due in on 11/16 which would be the second batch to be shipped I guess. Understand the first batch was all Monarch shocks and the second will be a mix of Monarch and DBX2 equipped frames. No idea when the 11 / 6 frames are due in though. My frame will be built out with full DVO parts so I ordered with the Rock Shock as it was supposed to be the fastest to arrive. Wish you all the best on your build!

Youre right... I meant 35mm! Running 2.5 aggressor in the rear... hopefully it fits!

I picked my Topaz up from Jenson. Trunnion mounted 185 x 55mm. Seems pretty consistently priced at around $500. Came with a nice shock pump and a very cool carrying case that I have no idea of what to do with once the shock is mounted. .

You store it until you sell the shock so it doesnít get damaged in shipping!

Iíve got the same shock on the wifeís enduro. Really nice shock, I like the ramp up air chamber. Easy to rebuild as well.

Powthief, Wondering if you have already ridden this fork or is it brand new? I'm thinking of going this route over a Grip 2 or Lyrik RC2.

Do you think the the Grip 3 position with Push ACS is a better performing fork than the stock Grip 2. I've always loved coil.

    Any feedback is appreciated.

Yes, got a few hundred miles on it... itís perfect. I had it in my Hightower lt. Iím sure the grip 2 dampener is better but I always ran my fit4 dampener wide open anyway. 3 position switch works awesome.... small braking bumps and chattery bs are no longer felt anymore. I was always having sore hands after riding my air forks but this is the only way to go for me.

Pinkbike... a guy had it locally here in Reno. I sold my 185 for 300 from the Hightower LT, and bought a brand new 160 for 300.

Yep, good eye man, Southwest ridge in Vegas. Im running the Offering with a Dvo diamond set at 150 and stock Rockshox super deluxe ( Low setting) . This is my first 29er bike. Very capable, nimble yet so stable; just fun. Rode 30 miles Sunday thru a lot of tech ups and downs and this bike is impressive .

Awesome looking bike. Iíve been playing around with the bike builder at Fanatik with the same frame. How is the large for you? Iím just under 6í and normally ride a large but the reach is a lot longer on the Offering compared to my recent bikes. Iíve been leaning toward the medium.

Good news the frame arrived yesterday and the build has started! Decals swapped, frame protection on, and the DVO Topaz is installed. I picked up a 8x20mm bushing kit from DVO and it dropped right in. BTW, if you do the job make sure to keep an eye out for the two washers on the trunnion bolts. Had a wonderful time last night playing hide and seek with them as I tried to manipulate the shock, swing arm, washers and bolts all at the same time. On the positive side I did walk away very impressed with the Enduro bearings throughout the linkage. Thatís a very high end touch that I donít think many people are aware of.

Ultimately I think the bigger problem is going to be keeping that bottom bracket area clean. While I really like the design aspect of keeping the weight low, I have a bad feeling that it is going to be a mud trap. Thinking I may pick up another lower shock bolt as I think dropping the swing arm to get access to some of those pivot bearings is going to be a fairly regular maintenance issue.

Long story short - the Topaz shock installation was pretty easy and I think it will give great support for larger riders. If you are considering options for an air shock outside the big two, I highly recommend DVO.

I think the L is perfect for me. I've got a super short stem and the cockpit just feels right. i'm 6' on the dot.
