So, How was it? Was the turn out as bad as it looked?

The turnout was pretty small, 30ish racers. But honestly that made the race quite fun as there was a bit tighter knit camaraderie. The timing crew dudes were awesome, everybody was

we had 4 stages saturday, 2 on the mountain & 2 back country. Since we rolled through quickly and rain was forecast, they moved our start times up for the backcountry stuff... but we all got blasted by the rain anyway.
Day 2 had 3 stages. They graciously gave half of us re-runs on the 1st stage as someone had sabotaged the tape to an important turn (after they had checked the course)... it put a little delay into the day but not much.

The whole team was awesome that put the race on. We got FREE BEER! all weekend long, 2 days of lunches. Friday at the racers meeting there was a ton of schwag & for awards they gave a ton of schwag away also (& tons more beer).

The 7 stages were great trails and everything on the mountain was full top to bottom runs (ow my arms/hands)

Honestly, I really enjoyed the much smaller atmosphere.... They were pretty pumped for Powderhorn in a few weeks and supposedly already have 7 venues lined up for next season.

I'll be at Powderhorn as that place has never been raced before, so should be fun!
