    novice enduro racing question
So i went to highland a few years and had a great time. i love the enduro looks cool but a few things

    1. i used my brakes probably more than most but i still had fun
    2. not sure i can climb a bike back up, im not saying being 45 is an excuse as im working towards that but is it bad to stop half way?

any indoor training guys are doing for enduro.
any older guys (yes im not dead but at 45 a little older than most) doing this.

i have mx gear for protection as well.

    any suggestions thanks

Mate, over here half the field will be walking on the climbs. I dunno what your time cut-offs are like but I say go for it. Climb at your own pace.

Top 5:guys in the Masters 40 class in BME are almost open pro top 15 speed. 45 isn't bad, I'm 42, put in a lot of work and can hold my own against the younger guys. Race track pending, I still think fitter guys have an advantage.

The races aren't won on the transfer climbs but can certainly be lost! Best to take your time and be fresh at the top than to head in to a descent cross-eyed. But yes, more fitness will help you to be more sendy on the downs, too :)
