Smile My Megavalanche edit - (X post from DH forum)

Spent a bit of time making two edits of my Megavalanche run, in the Alpe D'huez, French alps.

For those of you who don't know it, it's a mass start downhill race, broken up into three waves of 350 riders in each wave. Your start position and wave is determined by your qualifying run. The slowest few hundred riders just have to do a timed run on their own and don't get to do the mass start.

It's a rush with all the euro techno music blasting out at the start!

Over 2500 meters of descending... or 1.5 miles if you prefer that language .

I have made two edits lengths depending on your time. My full run was 1 hour 20 minutes.

    4 minute edit....

    11 minute edit...

Ignore the dashboard stats, as they didn't sync properly.
    Enjoy!!

great video. nice to see a 'normal' guy's perspective. I thought I'd want to do this someday but I get impatient being stuck behind a group on my local trails. I can't imagine how frustrating that must have been.

Nice! Looks like an insane amount of different conditions and different terrains. How long did it take you to complete the course?

That moment when the guy inexplicably gets his hand wrapped around the cassette, that's a proper Mega moment.

Between the thin air, the rocks and the steepness you won't care too much about the queues. It's really worth going, there is a lot of riding to be done over the Mega week, just try to be chill during the main event.
