CES ran the first 3 events with an ebike category in it and it seemed to be a hit. None of the other racers seemed to care. I certainly didnít. I donít see a reason for there to be any controversy.

What is interesting to me is that most if not all of the venues BME visited in 2019 do not generally allow ebikes. I guess they will have to get special permission from NFS or whoever manages the area where the race is being run.

I pedal hard and try to keep balance and focus when riding my Commencal AM, lifting weights and eating right brings together the experience with improved cardio. To pedal an E-bike and have the motor maintain bike momentum is a drawback to EFFORT.

Takes away from the "thrill of victory and the agony of defeat". (Howard Cosell)

I am 60 yrs, so maybe it's a new world.
Thanks for the post, the topic has been on my mind for a while.

E-bikes are great to get to the office and back home so you don't stink.

Spoken like someone who has never ridden one. E-bikes take the same effort as your regular bike but you can go twice the distance. I'll be racing the E-bike class at Angelfire this year.

The e-biking I've done so far (I just got one) my HR is within 5 points both average and max of my normal rides. I just go a lot further and faster.
