Tire choice for High Cascades 100?

What are people liking/running for this race? I'm considering forecaster front/ikon rear, maybe ikon f/r, or ikon front cross mark rear? I'm definitely open to non-maxxis options as well. The tires will be going on i30 rims. I weigh ~195-200lbs so I want a tire tough enough to not get shredded on the rock in Bend.

Fast rolling, but reasonably tough casing. Lava cuts can end your day.
    Whining is not a strategy.

I ran the forecaster front/ ikon last year. The ikon is the rear tire for this area. Forecaster does really well, basically a tougher nobby nic. That said, I have had the forecaster let loose if you do not get into the side knobs. Overall great combo for the HC100, definitely 3c exo!

I ran Mezcal 2.35 F&R last year, so did my brother in law. Worked great.

Ikon rear, Ardent race front both 2.2
I ran 2.1 Crossmarks before and they worked well too, but 2.1 would be too narrow for 30mm internal width rims.

Why are the Mezcalís G+ being discounted so heavy by most online retails?

Because Vittoria just updated their tires with a new compound.

Getting back to OP question on tires for HC100 and the possible sidewall issue on Lava Rock.......the old $35 Mezcal G+ does/does not do well on Lava type Rock or sharp rocks?? And the new $65 Mezcal G2.0 will do what better than G+ ?? Maybe the 2.0 has a secret ingredient

The Mezcal g+ is great in Bend. No one knows about the 2.0 because it isn't available yet. Even if someone does have one, they haven't had a chance to put it through its paces to give any recommendation. I would assume it's just fine; most of the durability is the casing. Vittoria is conceding the 2.0 will wear more quickly, but will give better grip.

Available at several online retailers in USA. Iím buying the G+ since you get two for the price of one G2.0 for the
    OR 12/24.
