    Texas Chainring Massacre Redux

So we got flooded/snowed out for our original 3/21 race date. We've postponed until 5/8 and we've added a good cause to support.

Kaiden Brennfoerder is the 2 1/2 year old son of a local cycling family. He recently had surgery to remove a brain tumor and has quite a battle ahead for him. We'll be using the Massacre proceeds to help his parents Amy and Brian out.

    Here's the snapshot:

112 and 65 mile routes made up of as much dirt road as possible. Staging venue will be DFW Adventure Park in Roanoke, TX. Winner take all (112 mile course) purse but it should be a great ride even if you aren't a racer. As of Thursday the route could be done on a road bike with some good luck but CX bikes and 29ers are probably the preferred sleds. Full suspension would be overkill.

We have 50ish riders already registered and online registration closes Friday 5/7. There WILL NOT be any day of registration. $35 gets you an entry, goody bag, t-shirt and refreshment from our sponsor Ska Brewing Co. DFW Aventure Park will be supplying hot meals at a nominal fee as well as showers/restrooms (no charge). Purse is sitting close to $500 already and will move up as more entries come in. Thanks to Mad Duck Cyclery and That Butt Stuff for their support as well. Packet pick up available day of the event and also Friday night at Mad Duck.

We've covered break even so we're no raising money for Kaiden. Keep 'em coming folks.

Saturday: Partly sunny, with a high near 75. East northeast wind between 10 and 15 mph. I don't think we could ask for much better.
