    Speedfil hydration system

Anyone ever use this? It's designed for triathlons but looks like it could be useful in endurance racing, especially for 100-milers where they'll refill your bottle for you. 40oz and a bite valve instead of having to fill a bunch of bottles and deposit them at various feed zones.

I think this is a bit of a reach for mtb use. I like my front teeth (well crowns/caps now but that's another story) too much to bend that close to the bar.

although, I suppose you could have a longer tube but you'd need a way to keep it from flopping around...??? Like those magnetic bite valves (is that osprey?)...???

I'll stick with bottles/packs in the meantime.

Most guys who use it talk of having to cut short the tube; it comes pretty long. It really depends upon whether it fits my XL FS frame, I think. In 100s there's plenty of road to dip for a sip.

My wife has one on her tri bike. It's a pain in the ass. Good idea but in practice, it's hard to use and spills water everywhere.

Thanks for the feedback. Camelbak should really try something like this. I have a couple of Camelbaks but wouldn't race with them now; it's so much better to not have something so heavy on my back. And 40-60oz is as much as I'd want to carry at once.

On the other hand the number of bottles you need for an endurance race can get not only costly, but complicated--pre-filling them, did I drop them off at the right aid station? And so on.
