Caution; Merge; Workers Ahead! Mother nature alters 12 Hours of Humboldt course

It won't affect the race, there's plenty of time before July 15 to clear all the redwoods downed by the 97mph winds of New Year's eve. But DANG! Hundred foot redwoods are down and scattered like a dropped box of matches.

The first pics shows what a few tons of redwood can do to the 8x8 joists that the city uses to build foot bridges. The other one was taken right on a trail. Really. Somewhere under all those branches and chunks o' redwood is a smooth, rolled out trail.

Kinda humbing to see what the weather is capable of doing, eh?

No worries, though. City crews have already cleared a lot, and the race is still six months away.
