I'll help you as much as I can, Man. I live here in Emporia,(Kansas), home of the DK.200. I plan to give the DK a go, and I will be happy to help. PM me with any questions. You will not regret riding the race. It's well organized, full of great folks and it will definitely push your limits.

Paul, There should be riders coming in from Kansas City, or at least driving through KC on their way to DK. Get registered and it logistics shouldn't be too muh of a problem. Get a bunch of miles in, it's a tough one.

What bikes does everyone ride in this event? Cross or mtb, or possibly road?
If you ever see a turtle on a telephone pole, remember he had help getting there. Is there anything beer can't do?

Fast guys are mostly on cross bikes. Everyone else is on a mix of cross or MTB for the most part. Plenty of Fargos and Vayas too. I've seen one road bike (like 23 or 25c tires) in the three years I've ridden.

Messed up my US / UK time difference and have missed out On waiting list but needing to book flights I would need to know if I am in or not sooner rather than later.

Congrats to all those who can operate a watch and got an entry

You know those days when you set an alarm but don't take your phone off of vibrate?
I woke up soon enough to get on the Wait list, i will be super bummed if i don't get to ride in Kansas, in which case i will have a 200 mile route in reserve and take out my disappointment closer to home.
