Yep. It's a winner. Great scenery, epic course, superb organization, and a passionate promoter. It was my favorite race in 2011.

Which bike? Well that's THE question. Last year I rode my mountain bike with a rigid fork and 1.9 tires. It worked well. But my plan for '12 is to ride my cyclocross bike. But I might change my mind. And then I might change it again. Really though, ride the bike you are most comfortable on. You'll spend 5-9 hours in the saddle on race day. Riders crushed the course on mountain bikes, 'cross bikes, and franken bikes. One guy even finished (in the top 20!) on a road bike. More important than the bike, are the legs.

    Crush it!

I'll be riding my Niner Air 9 again this year. My goal is to beat my time from last year which was well into the bottom half of finishers. I love this race.
