Is it possible to get a old Epiphany frame with cracks where shock fits repaired ?

My old Ellsworth Epiphany frame has cracked around where the lower part of the shock mount on the stupid cutout of an E (My even older ellsworth without the E is still fine)

Any one know if it would be possible to get the bit that are cracked replaced - or is the frame a write off ?

It is possible but whether it is worth it is another question.

Welding is easy. Anybody with a TIG welder can weld those up in 10 minutes. Welding the aluminum weakens it significantly though and it needs to be heat treated to restore original strength. That means stripping the frame and finding someone that can heat treat the entire frame.

Do not trust anyone that says heat treating is optional. 6000 series aluminum needs heat treating after welding. There are shops that will repair but it may be far more money than the frame is worth.
