New question here. Pivot bolt on my Isis??

I've been riding my Isis for about 2yrs now,so I decided to take it apart and give it a good cleaning. When I took the pivot bolt out I noticed it has a hour glass shape to it .

Does anyone know what would cause this?

    Thanks,
    Greg

Does it appear to be designed that way? I never took mine out...

It did not look like it was designed that way. The threads look worn and have a real gritty feel to them.
I wander if maybe the bolt was loose and that caused it to wear like that? That is the only thing on the bike that I never checked regularly.
