The ID's nice bottom bracket/shock mount...

<font face=verdana size=2>I've always thought the ID's cool CNC'd bottom bracket/shock mount was a thing of structural and mechanical beauty... and I always assumed it was necessary to carry the load and provide the desired stiffness for the whole package, from minimizing bottom bracket flex and squaring up the rear suspension for freedom of movement.

I'd noticed that Turner and Ventana do the exact same thing on their bikes in this category.

But when Ells released the Moment I was surprised to see this not included in the design. I figured that if the ID required this approach, surely the Moment would require similar if not burlier one?

What's the deal? - I have always kind of assumed that TE must have figured out that this wasn't necessary and the simple tab welded to the frame over a standard bottom bracket configuration was all that was needed?

I don't think I can recall hearing of anyone breaking their Moment at this particular spot in the frame.

'01 Truths had the Cnc BB shell too. I assumed they did away with them for cost cutting reasons. I think the Ventana ones are art.

That's a nice blue chain stay on the Moment, must've been a proto type.
