How does your State Rank - IMBA Report Card

Colorado came in 5th this year and my State of birth came in 8th (MI). Surprisingly, my wife's home state came in 6th - Arkansas! Who knew? Apparently more will now as the Syllamo Trail has been named an IMBA epic. Congrats to them...

If you haven't been to Arkansas, the western side of the state is hilly, rocky and riddled with hot springs. Well worth a trip in the fall when the color is in full swing.

If you're looking for a vacation destination, the Four Corners has it all: #s 3, 4, 5 and 9 on the list.

So how does your State rate?

Scotland beats out BC as best Int'l locale:

Utah: A minus, third on the list.
{Principal Skinner} Hmm. Whoever did this is in very deep trouble.
    {Martin} And a sloppy speller too. The preferred spelling of 'wiener' is w - i - e - n - e - r, although 'e - i' is an acceptable ethnic variant.

AZ,coming in at 4th with an A- gotta love it! CA way down at 35 disappoints though. Neighboring CA has so many beautiful places/trails that would be great to ride but sooo many are off limit to bikers.

How's riding in big bear country? Or is this a non-issue where you are? I've come across a black bear and cub and I'll tell you, it was unnerving. Plus it seems like there could always be a kitty lurking...

I try not to ride alone too often or if I do it's a well travelled trail.

MI was 6th a few years ago. I kinda miss riding there. And the UP has really come a long way in that last decade with it's trails.

Well it looks like we (West Virginia) fell from number one on the list to number two on the list this year. We'll have to work on that and make a come back in 2006.
