    Cool-blue Rhythm Wildlife Sightings

While riding south of Apsley, Ontario near Jack's Lake today I saw 4 whitetail deer, 2 ruffed grouse and a wolf. What have you folks seen while out biking?

Hey Revrnd, are you up in that area often? I'm up there most weekends in the summer, usually ride the hydro lines from Jacks Lake Rd south to Tyes Lake.
I was riding solo in the same area in August, I saw what looked like a black lab sitting a couple of hundred feet ahead on the trail. As I kept pedalling, the mama bear's cub came out of the woods, joined her on the trail and the two of them ran ahead and over a hill. Needless to say, I decided I had ridden far enough on that trail and turned around and rode back to where I came from.
I did the Storm the Trent North Kawartha Adventure Race in the same area last Saturday (Oct. 2), the only wildlife I saw were the other competitors!

Riding in East Hamilton (the former Red Hill Valley, soon to be expressway), I've seen a doe and 2 fawns and lots of chipmunks.
At Kelso and Hilton Falls, I've seen a few wild turkeys.

I'm up there pretty well every weekend as well. My parents live in Apsley. I've ridden down the hydro line to the south end of the gravel pits. I haven't ridden to Ties or Little Jack's Lake yet. I was over on the forest access road west of there when I saw the different animals.
