Was up at Christie on Sat - OMG

Looks like Turkey Point and Puslinch are going to be the MTB destinations once things thaw and dry up. Going to have to learn the Waterdown and Hilton Falls trails. Going to be a while for the Christie trails to get cleaned up.

I find it so depressing I'd be awfully tempted to walk away, let the conservation authority deal with it, come back next year. Wish I could get my money back on my season's pass.

Not sure why they did the north side of the lake during the main part of the winter and are doing the south side now that everything is thawing. They haven't done the east side of the G-out yet - if they get in there now it's going to be a huge mess.
The double track is all tore up to about the G-out - I assume because they have been running the equipment up the double track.

The entrance to the Trillium trail by the causeway.

Trillum trail from the west section to the upper east.

A section of TP was logged this winter too. Time to roll up your sleeves.

    Aw man.

I love that place. Maybe it's time to do a couple volunteer nights.
Some great sets for the trainer:

The good thing is that there's a perfectly good trail under there. Clearing slash is a lot faster than building trail.

Yep, Mr. Monster's already been out doing a little tidying, and there is a lot of work to do to get everything off the trails. Probably a big cleanup day in the works later in the spring. Most of the trails were at least logged before it thawed too much. It won't be the Conservation Authority dealing with it (though they have been really good about keeping us in the loop), it will be the Hamilton Cycling Club. Any little bit that you can do will help.

The only good thing is it will keep everyone off the trails until it is dry.
