    Trails in London ON area?

I've just moved to the London area. Any good XC or Freeride type trails in the area? I hear that there are some trails in the Fanshawe area. And someone I met in the street said something about Lilymeadow, but I haven't been able to nail down more details. I like trails that are pretty rugged for aggressive XC, including the odd 1-3ft drop. Would be great to hear about places with jumps and similar stuff too.

When under pressure, your level of performance will sink to your level of preparation.

Thanks for the tip about the Trail Reviews! It looks like there's four main possibilities for me to check out in London:
    Boler Mountain - $6
    Fanshawe - $3
Cains Rd / Kilworth - free (Byron area, adjacent to Warbler Woods, technical/advanced)!
Meadowlily - now illegal for biking?

And of course, there's lots of urban riding available in London!

Fanshawe I would consider flat and fast. It's the type of trail that you just jam on.

Boler is my fave since it's rough and hilly - never a chance to get your breath there. The races are now done for the year but that's no reason not to get out there. As a bonus, course changes a LITTLE bit thru-out the year.

Meadowlilly - Always information/misinformation about this one. Can't confirm or deny it's entirely off limits now but up til last time I was there, the west part was off limits and always has been, the east side is and always was open. Take that for what it's worth, nothing.

Cains Road - Haven't been out there since the late 90's so no info.

Urban - See the kiddies doing urban stuff all over the place, and I even bought a bike to do some this year but have concentrated on XC so no joy for me.

meadowlily has always been illegal, but it's never patrolled, and ther's some nice freeride stuff out wher the illegalness ends. fanshawe has become free now, as it would cost too much to pay someone to charge admission so the gate is open and you can just ride right in. it's not all that good, though... im still trying to find out how to get to Cains, and don't forget the dirt jumps at killaly!

Are the trails at Cains Rd still open? Or have they been eaten up by subdivision in recent years?

    Kains Rd, Komoka trail

Just read the review, however a lot of that trail has changed since the subdivison, golf course and oxford/commisioners road extention has gone thru there. Used to ride there quite a bit a few years back, Haven't been there for a while, Komoka was really good riding to, (now illegal) Now I either go to Boler, fanshawe, woodstock (the pines) or do a road trip when any xc race is on (T.O. area or Blue mtn) Might have to head to the Kains road trail to see whats still there for riding.

I just hit the Cains Rd trail for the first time today, it is still open, but now it is only a 6km trail. Definitely not suitable for beginners, but advanced riders will have a fun ride, although be prepared for lots of inclines and a fairly slow but technical ride overall. Check the above link for more information and my full review.
