Great article on someone I never got a chance to meet. Paul's Dirty Enduro is one of our can't-miss races.

1 in 4 adults suffer from a diagnosable mental disorders.
there is such stigma related to mental illness (nanny state thread good example)
    http://anxietypanichealth.com/2008/0...kely-the-same/
that people with mental disorders tend to hide their conditions until it is to late.
early recognition is just as important as any other illness.

I agree with this statement... I wish I knew the early signs in my sister when she was younger - we could have gotten her the help she needed earlier... but we also found she suffered from Schizophrenia and Schizoaffective Disorder. Depression is one of the symptoms of Schizoaffective Disorder...

the bone is healed, but the ligaments still torn and will need surgery... I am postponing surgery...

this injury was worse than my leg break and took a toll on me since it was in the summer...

and since we are in the thread of mental health, I actually did go into depression during this injury... pulled myself out, but it was tough. I know it's not as bad as some folk who deal with depression on a daily basis and it takes over their life, I just couldn't handle not being able to do the things I loved... draw, paint, ride my bike, walk my dogs properly and the simple tasks of folding laundry and lifting things to do stuff around the house...

I am good now... I won't let an injury get the best of me like this again...
