    Tent Camping - Collingwood Area

    Folks

Sorry for the early request but...The wife needs to put in this years vacation time requests in a couple of weeks.

We were considering a family tenting outing to the Collingwood area, that way the oldest and I can hit the mountain for a couple of afternoons, whilst the wife and youngest do some hiking.

We have been at Craigleith, and would like a bit more property and privacy. That place stacks you like cordwood.

    Suggestions?

    Thanks

    michael

It's a bit out of the way from where you are but Bruce Peninsula National Park has some AMAZING hike-in sites, plus the late-summer swimming is fanstastic.
Please enjoy seeing this terrible collection of me - something wonderful is about to happy.

My go-to place for camping in that neighbourhood is Memorial Park in Meaford - run by the municipality - owned by the Kinsmen Club - but the big weekends could already be booked, it's a pretty popular place for those who know it

There also used to be a small campground in Thornbury on Grey Road 2 - about a mile off 26 - it was literally just a couple spots of land at the edge of a farm field next to the creek, but virtually unknown

i've been to memorial park a few times, they have a very nice beach and the washrooms are spotless. though you are still kinda packed in there. the trail along the river to the busted dam is kinda cool also.

Head out to Sauble Beach... 30 mins from the mountain and there are some awesome trails nearby as well... lots of stuff for the family to do too!
