Thatís correct, this years Sausage Suit Individual Time Trial is now going to include the option to stay around after the race, bring your BBQ, pitch your tent (or trailer, or Van!) , have dinner then enjoy the evening around a campfire. Sing some songs, enjoy trail stories and meet some new people! If you have bike lights, why not bring those as well, you never know, maybe a night ride may happen!

We have use of a large grassy area with plenty of room to camp for the evening after the race. And itís free with your entry fee!

Camp out will be at the old Camp Dufferin location!

    Registration is now open:

Sausage Suit ITT 2014 Registration | substance projects

The premise of the SSITT is an individual start with 30 seconds between each riderÖ.no mass start, no crowds! This also means lots Ďo single track, not so much double track. Options for the Bike are 15km or 30km (approx.).

Donít feel like riding that weekend, training for a running event? Dan (substance projects) has got you coveredÖ.also available is a 15km (approx.) trail run. Same fun single track course, just on foot! That should give everyone something to do.

The course will be a single lap (15km) or two laps (30km) of the single track exclusively in Dufferin Forest.

I'm in for the 30KM. I'll be wearing my tightest sausage-suit.
Maybe I should but drop bars on my MTB, John Tomac-style.

    registered for the 30k
we did a pre ride yesterday, approx. 30 minutes after a very heavy rain.
the trails were in great shape as the sandy soil at dufferin forest drains very quickly.
the course is pretty much all single track.
well worth the drive up for anyone sitting on the fence and as mentioned before you can stay afterward and enjoy some socializing with the rest of the people.

Also, if you are kicking around for a bit afterwards / camping out, we will also be having a corn roast. Another one of the tvg folks is bringing the corn, pot to cook over the fire and some straw bails to sit on!!

Unfortunately can't partake. Though in retrospect am glad....seeing Unglued in 1980's retro zebra stripes was enough. They belong on the wall with the 1980's Tri suit aka the Speedo.

A great visual image for 9am....

Also, for anyone wanting to go ride the course, Dan marked it up yesterday, so you can do a tour. The only part left to do is the start finish area, but thats nothing special.

Heading up tonight. Is this all in Dufferin or does it dip into Mansfield?

    Thanks for the event!
I rode road and MTB back in late 80's early 90's alot in the first half of hi school- then got into superbike racing and never went near a bicycle again till June 2014. I think I have ridden a few hundred km this summer, and this was my first race inthe last 26 yrs. I had no idea what to expect from the event, or myself, but I had alot of fun. Managed to jam a stick between wheel and fork, and bent the front rim so bad it wouldn't turn. Had to kick it till it was only about an inch wobbly side to side, but would at least clear the fork legs, and then finished out the race. Hoping my LBS can true it back up,LOL

what an awesome race. trails at dufferin forest are some of the most fun in all ontario. even hours after the massive rain - it was rideable and then some... for some strange reason i took 2011 ITT technical guide as if it was 2014 ITT technical guide and showed up at the start even before Substance Dan. Hmm... Thought the start time was 10am, but alas - it was 1:30pm. well, one does not drive to Dufferin Forest for no reason - so after Dan marked remaining section of the course - went for a 15km loop. awesome ride in the morning, then took a snooze in the car just in time to wake up and greet late comers, before the race started... the course was almost all single track, yet still allowed rare passings (time trial format rocks). few climbs, plenty of fun and flowy single track and awesome group of people riding their bikes. Team Van Go - was out there in full force. this was the first time i rode their baby - tight and technical section which required complete body workout and surgical steering in order not to put the foot down. good job good gnomes... i apologize for not being able to hang around and enjoy fermented beverage, but committed to come to my son's tournament and did not want to disappoint him. luckily the organizer found more handsome (lap)dog to take my step on the podium.

congrats to all who raced... steven was riding a bike that most of us would not take to grocery shopping, and earned podium - congrats... larry was happy to have survived on similar one. i'd probably call it a day after the first lap on one of these THINGS.

according to a reliable source - no one was cheating at this race... besides, it's just a race...

i only wish RiotMTB was there, so that i don't have to type this crap. besides - i can't read his blog now. though i am sure he can write a blog on anything. including the race he did not race....

Sorry, was busy doing this novel thing called training without responsibility during school hours. And didn't get the memo of this Rally. I will be speaking first thing Monday morning with my Personal Assistant in regards to this matter.

Oggie, i thought that was you on the podium.thats why i thought the girls think you're cute and follow you
    that was a fun course.
lots of cramping going on in the 2nd lap, myself included but managed to finish and enjoy a beer afterward. was able to stay until the bon fire but then the field full of ragweed got the better of me and had to leave.
egggman, it was good meeting you and putting another face to a name.
    congrats to everyone
