    Sonoran Desert Getaway

As my local Buckwallow trails were winding down for the season, it was the perfect time to head off to Arizona's Sonoran Desert to camp and ride in McDowell Mountain Regional Park and the nearby McDowell Sonoran Preserve. Daytime temperatures were 25-30C with all day sunshine, and cool nights at 8-10 C. Western Spirit and our two guides were just excellent, I highly recommend them! The photo link below might just cheer you up on this dreary November day...or not!!!

No I flew into Phoenix, Western Spirit will pick you up at the airport! However I flew in a day early and they picked me up at my hotel. Mountain bike and camping gear was included in their price, and it was all good quality! Just had to show up with clothes etc. I would love to drive there some day and explore a bunch of the south west but time was a factor for me as well.

Thank you! Yes the Sonoran landscape was a big draw for me! Along side the great trails and the weather, the scenery and flora make this area hard to beat. And I quickly learned not to bump into anything LOL! You know how sometimes you cut a corner a bit tight and brush a tree or shrub in Ontario? Do NOT do this here!

Isn't it awkward asking a stranger to pull cactus needles out of your bum?

Or was that just my experience down in Mexico last year.
