Bonking ... not feelin' well rain forcast until end of May

weather reports indicate rain in GTA until end of May. This is depressing. Has anyone check out trail of Durham conditions? is it wet?
    Is Albion area dry ?

    ?

40% chance of rain does not equal rain....unless youre that guy from Charlie Brown with the cloud over your head all the time!

    Ride on!

    I just noticed...

...that environment Canada now shows rain in their forcast images when it is 30% chance. What is that all about.

They should say 70% chance of sun; it reads better.

A positive spin on it - cool! - forecasts are so inaccurate, I prefer to look at the radar imagery on Environment Cans website, at least i can where it IS raining.

Keep in mind that the long-range forecast has less than 50% chance of being correct. So, it is more a forecast of what the weather won't be.

As mentioned above, the more relevant info is what the weather actually was. To that end, I have put together a weather page for riding at Kolapore, take a look at www.geocities.com/jonesv33/weather.html. The maps and rainfall data are appropriate for Albion hills as well.

I did a 2 hour ride at Albion yesterday and it was bone dry! It was a great ride and the conditions were absolutely mint. With all the rain expected this weekend, I can assure you the south end will be a mud bath. However, up in the pines in the north end you should still be ok.
If May does prove to be wet most of the time, a good place to go would be Mono Mills.

    Durhams always dry

    Didn't you know?

Durham is always dry.. If not come out to the Ganny' there is so much sand that it doesn't matter how wet it is, it'll always be packed and fast from what I hear.

I've ridden Durham after many days of rain and it always soaks it in nicely.

Ganaraska Forest. Farther out east from durham.
Durham does dry out pretty good but Glen Major doesnt dry out as fast in some areas.

    Ganaraska Forest

The Ganaraska forest is located 40 km NE of Oshawa or so on Kirby Rd. (Concession 9)
100km's of trails and mostly sandy trails.
