    Ontario Bike Shops

    Looking for bike, will travel.

I have checked in with a few local LBSs for a new ride. They only typically stock mountain bikes in the sub $1000 range and mostly cater to the roadie crowd. Which is no problem except I am looking for something more high end that I want to test ride. They will order a bike in, with deposit. I understand where they are coming from, but there must be a bike shop in Ontario that has stock to try.

Can anyone recommend any bike shops between Toronto and Ottawa that carry a good selection of hardtails. Thanks in advance.

    Find something local to you.

Depends on where you are. I think most of us have a favourite local LBS. Mine would be Pedal Performance in Pickering. They have a good selection.

    Cyclepath on the Danforth...

I usually saw a lot of high end bikes at Cyclepath on the Danforth in Toronto.

They almost always had 6 or 7 high end mountain bikes on their floor.

I haven't been to that store in a while, maybe give them a call before you go?

    2. www.trailblazercycles.com
    3. www.dukesonqueen.com
    4. www.thecyclepath.com/danforth_page_1.htm

These are probably where you get the best service/selection

    except on Sundays

    As I found out yesterday....

Did a mini road trip starting in the beaches and working our way all around T.O ending near the humber using a 2002 T.O bike map (alot has changed!!!)

Anyways...as I found out most bike shops are closed on Sundays!

Cycle solutuions is a pretty cool place with some great deals on right now...
another shop that had some sales(more accessories) was Set Me free on Queen St.

Not much in the selection of shoes (the reason for the trip) so any word on LBS with a good selection of shoes?

    Cheers

Dukes on Queen St W has a really good selection of shoes. The only problem I had there was trying to narrow down my choices. The sales guy there knew his stuff too, helped a lot in making my decision.

    Cheers, Dave

I was just going to post it. The reason I asked, I wasn't sure what the full name was. I did a Google search & it came up thru the Toronto Bicycling Networks' website: TBN
