    Lucky (black canoe) dog!

Gogeous day for a ride! We were out to the harbour, visiting the HMCS Haida. Tons of walkers out too!
Please enjoy seeing this terrible collection of me - something wonderful is about to happy.

    OMG...Crusty!! [o]

Fat biking is just insane this weekend...one can ride everywhere!! Today I decided that if I can ever only have one bike, it will be a fat bike. The venue of choice was Buckwallow Cycling Centre in Gravenhurst. Nono they are not open...we were riding with Mike, so we had VIP status!

BCD I always check your posts for the great pictures and to add another place to the list of must rides. On a side note do you know if Buckwallow is on target to open this coming weekend - Apr30/May1st ??

Yes, Buckwallow will be open starting Sat Apr 30th. I think at least two seperate group rides are in the works for Sunday already, and a BBQ. Everyone is keen to get at it and shake off winter!
As per my chat with Mike today, the main trails are very mucky still in places, with many frost heaves still evident. This is a result of the main trails being packed for skiing in winter and slow for the snow to come off, but the single-track is in pretty good shape. In my experience this is typical for the first few weekends each season, and I choose my routes and trails to avoid the wet areas as much as possible during early season at Buck. The fact that it is going to rain much of next week won't help unfortunately There are still a few snow patches evident in places, and several down trees across trails that the crews have not been able to get too yet...we have had some extreme wind days in recent weeks.
ps - thanks for your appreciation of the pics
