pleased how that project worked out. picked up a massive thorn in my rear tubeless tire and flatted out that day. the guys in the pro shop at the village had me up and rolling in no time. if you have an issue with your bike i recommend them highly.

I was also wondering this ^

Do they do any sort of private lessons for intermediate riders?

And where is the bike shop and bike wash located? When I was there last I never saw them

Hey Matt! The bike wash is located right before you get back on the lift and finishing a run. It is to the left of you when you are coming to the end of the hill. The shop is located behind the activity/mountain bike center. You need to walk around it to the back.

Blue does offer dh lessons (intros and upgrades) 10:30 am, and 1:00, 3:30 & 6pm during the week.
Blue also offers Saturday clinics (package includes rental of equipment and lift access)
There is also a DH clinic for women (Thursday x4)

    Link

I am not sure if Wade Simmons & co, are having the annual clinic this year. I have not seen any reference posted on the website

    Hi All

My name is Dave and it's my first time writing in this forum. I've been riding mountain bikes pretty intensively in last 9 years. Cross country, All Mountain, DH - I do it all. I've moved to GTA about a year ago, but didn't have chance to ride in Blue Mountain bike park. So I was thinking to check it out tomorrow. Is someone here going to be there well? I would to have some company and orientation.
Another question is about getting to Blue Mountain. I know that during winter season there are shuttles going from Toronto Downtown to the resort. Is there a reasonable way to get up there by bus in the summer? Is someone that's going there tomorrow has a room for the dude and his bike? I'll be happy to split gas costs.
Sorry for asking this many questions. It's a first time after all

Dry and dusty up top, wet on the bottom half depending what trail you picked. No lift lines on Sundays

Saw your old pink swingarm whip last weekend.
Forgot it was not yours anymore until I almost tapped "you" on the shoulder.
At the last second realized it was not you...

Anybody have any tips for riding with poison ivy rash?
me gots a bit of a problem with spots on both legs, arms, chest and face.
offending urushiol oils have all been removed so not worried about spread, just comfort.
Sweating seems to make it itch, and I sweat just looking at a picture of the sun (or hot wings for that matter....mmmm hot wings.....)

    Thoughts?
    Am I screwed?
Just load up on benadryl, hydrocortizone ointment, sunscreen and grin and bear it?

And not riding is not an option - only have so many times to make the 3 hour one way drive a year, and when I gets a free ride, I'm all over it.

Not sure if we can make it on Saturday ... but Sunday is definite!

I'm still working on my jump for the test. The bike is on fire in the berms and on steep descents... but I still need to practice to get that front tire up. I had no problem with my Syren but the big bike is taking a while to dial in

ewwww! A couple years ago I had a small poison ivy rash on my knee. The itch drove me crazy! I found that calamine and hydrocortisone helped but my rash was mild. Benadryl (cream or spray) can temporarily to help the itch. Fresh Aloe Vera is also a nice relief. Usually the rash goes in 7 to 14 days

The first 50 years were ok, I was one of the 'immune' ones - I wouldn't say I could roll around in Poison Ivy, but could touch it, brush it aside without issue.
Now in year 51 - not so much.
I was car-camping with the family in Turkey Point. One of my tarp guylines was low in a tree next to a decent sized bush...
Came home later in the week, I had a bit of a rash in one spot on my leg - figured just a couple of bites I missed.
Went riding on Saturday - got nice and hot and sweaty.
Sunday was covered in the rash - only then did the other shoe drop - online I went, and yup - repeated exposure sensitizes you, so eventually everybody will get the rash if exposed enough.

Interesting shower Sunday - using garage products not for intended purpose....the oil dries into a lacquer (what japanese lacquer-ware is made from) - so if it is dry, normal detergents will not remove it. Enter lacquer thinner, Gojo orange pumice scrub and Dawn dishsoap. Never been so clean.

Ended up getting prednisone from the Dr., still a bit itchy, but everything dried up, nothing new.

Cleaned all my riding gear - and here is hoping I got it all, otherwise it will be groundhog day.

Damn - no more wondering around the bush on canoe trips without worry....

They will be, was there yesterday (sat) and everything was running primo - with the exception of the bottom of h20 closed as gravity logic is in doing some rework. When done, they head over to Haole, to rework the bottom. Showcase still not open...
Hope you had fun, now do that test!!!

We had a blast today! The favorite trail of the day was Minion's Run. So buff and fast! Kudos to the trail crew for fixing the drainage in the bottom bowl.

My son is ten years old and he's wants to hit the DH trails at blue mountain. The DH bikes for rent are too big and the kid bikes for rent are XC oriented. Is there another place nearby to rent kids DH bikes? what do the kids usually ride in the park?

According to legend, Elvis wanted a bicycle for his 11th birthday (in January 1946), but he got a guitar instead. And the rest is history.

Squeaker finally reopens and I can't make it out this weekend
Hope it's as good as the original
If anyone on here gets to try it and is familiar with old Squeaker, I would love to hear your opinion of it.

Cheers and ride safe everyone !!

Squeaker was fun, I need to work on lines though as I was getting bounced around a lot on Saturday. I was much mor into the latest changes to Shot Glass! They are fantastic, although I hope they rebuild the wood drop at the entrance as it was much better than the current entrance. Overall the changes ar great! So nice to ride and have all of the trails open!

Spent the whole weekend up there trails were running great, shot glass had a good over haul and squeaker still has those nice chunky root sections that made it so great.

Well its the final weekend for DH'n at Blue. Unlike the last couple of weekends the weather is looking favorable.. Especially Sunday and Monday with temps around 20*C. Hoping all who prefer letting go of the brakes and pointing it straight down the hill for the 2 wheeled thrill will make it out. It will be AWESOME !!
I'll keep my eyes open for the regulars.
BTY next years bike passes usually go on sale this weekend at the lowest price of the season.
    Enjoy the riding ALL !!

Ughhh. On Monday, I broke my shoulder blade in 4 places right at the end of O-Chute.

The silver lining is that it happened on the last day of the season. I've got all fall and winter to recover for next year.
