    OCA Race License?

I did 3 OCUP MTB races this year, and got a call from the Ontario Cycling Association hassling me to purchase a full license ($140).

Cost wise, I was planning on going to 6 OCUPs this year and purchase 6 full day licenses instead of getting the full license.

Does anyone know a way around getting a full license? If this is the case, I'm not going to do anymore OCUPs this year because I think it is ridiculous to pay $140 for the remaining 3 races.

Nah theres no way to get around. The O-cups are already extremely pricey, I can't imagine how they expect a university student to pay for a license on top of the o-cups. I havent done any o-cups this year and don't plan on it, simply because of costs. I'm gonna stick to the significantly cheaper weekly races and just purchase a citizen permit.

Bonking ... not feelin' well No.

There is no way around it.

My advice is to not do the remaining Ocups but do any of the citizen races that you want to do. I assume you are around 20, so you have lots of years of racing ahead of you. Buy an OCA license next year at the beginning of the season that way you get your money's worth.

You still have the Lake 2 Lake Barrie, Bethany Bell Ringer, Trek Series Durham Durango and Pauls Dirty Enduro, those are the main citizen MTB races left.

Cycling can be expensive, and racing makes it more so.

You can race the citizens category at the ocups with a citizens permit.

Yeah it sucks the price is so high. $100 would be more better a price but even then it is late in the year now to get a full license for 3 OCups.
