No Tor Bike Show purchases thread ?

There's usually one every year about the deals people picked up .
Guess it wasn't that good of a show this year (??)

This was the first year in probably the last four that I didn't walk out of the show with a bike. It wasn't so much that the bikes there weren't great. I just didn't find what I was looking for.

That beng said, I ordered a bike Monday morning to make up for it.

There's an attaboy waiting for the person who correctly guesses what the new bike will be.

Between the two of us, there are five Misfits kicking around the compound but I digress.

Pugs was in the running (sorry, BCD) but didn't make the cut.

While that is a good guess considering that new distributor/shop/nightclub thingy (Blacksmith?) in town carries Van Dessels (and my fetish for any bike associated with Gin & Trombones), you're still way off the mark.

All I said was that a Pugsley made the short list. In the end, I went a fairly different direction. Think slower.

Well, since that's over in surprisingly quick time, I did make one purchase at the show (other than the IMBA socks). A nice replacement for my mountain bike shoes for $49. I do NOT believe the original list price was over $200, but it was still a pretty good deal.

Darn it. After the fatbike got rejected last night, my next guess was an xtracycle, I just never put it in.

The Kona long tail will work great for hauling tools and refreshments back to the trails, you just won't be able to haul as much as the Bakfiets however the Kona will maneuver through the single track better. We love our long tail for trail work, grocery runs, beer store runs
and going on dates (i usually captain on the way home if a few drinks are consumed )

That's the general idea. I was inspired by the beautiful new Hamilton Farmer's Market to pick up something practical. Of all the bikes I have, not one of them is really well suited to hauling so I figured, why not go all-in!
