    NFLD riding

Hey folks, I'm looking at tagging along for a road trip to Newfoundland this summer. My friends want to visit Gros Morne Park for some cycle touring around there.

Is there any trail riding out that way? Either in the park or around it?

Newfoundland is an excellent place for mountain biking.. and the west coast of NEwfoundland is definately the best place to be!! There is excellent trail riding in and around Corner Brook. As for Gros Morne, I'm not sure about trails.. i did a cycling tour up there a few years back on some logging roads.. it was quite nice. You can contact one or both of the two main bike shops on the west coast, both of which are located in Corner Brook..

    Hope This helps,

    Bike? Hike!

If you're in Gros Morne, leave the bike, there aren't many trails that I have seen in the area as most of it is National Park land. Corner brook isn't too far, and get a topo to find some long and secluded logging roads. Ride the old railway if you're inclined too..
    .
But be sure to bring your Hiking boots and backpacking gear.

If you are biking, the road up the coast gets really busy, the section from Rocky Harbour to Western Brook / Arches would be beautiful if there was no traffic.

If you backpack and have time, do the long range traverse, or get dropped of and hike up the gulch at western brook for a night. Camp at Green Gardens if possible.

Must do Hikes: - Gros Morne, Green Gardens, Green Point
Must do Sites: Arches, Tablelands, Western Brook boat tour, Western Brook Beach

There are a tonne of other things to do, I have yet to discover a decent bike trail singletrack trail other then the park hiking trails.
