What do you do with them?

Do you think there are bugs hiding in them? Their porosity scares me.

nope no bugs, when you cut the stem of the morel you inspect it's condition. you also have the check if it is not a false morel. when you get morels to the kitchen give them a rinse in cold water and inspect again. cook (well) or dry (to use later).

I've always been nervous (though curious) about mushroom-hunting. Are there any poisonous ones to be particularly cautious about around here?

Is a false morel like a poseur? How can you tell they're keeping it real?

The guys at work have been coming out with bags full of morels all week. Seems like there's always a bit of grit left in them though....

That isn't saying much though, vodka + x = better. Where x can be anything within one's reach!
