Looking for Parry Sound REGION info please

Hey all, loooooooooong time no see.

I'm possibly looking at relocating to the region of Parry Sound, possibly "permanently" (ie, nothing is truly permanent, but i'd expect to spend many years/decades/die up there). I don't know exactly when, maybe as early as this fall, maybe next spring/summer. I don't know if it'll be a fulltime move or not or what, but I figured I should do some research now before I commit. I don't know where yet, maybe closer to Huntsville, maybe Mactier, or maybe down towards Haliburton ... no idea yet.

So, that being said ... especially for those of you that live there or have a cottage that you spend a good amount of time at ... i'd like to know more about, well, anything and everything. If you live there i'd like to know more about employment opportunities and pros/cons. Lifestyle? Do y'all have parties and laugh at the cottagers while you roast hot dogs and marshmallows or ... ? Trails i've been reading up on. I'd love to do a Seguin Trail run at some point. Love seeing pics from BlackCanoeDog and the likes. I wish more of it was in person and I plan on changing that.

I've spent the past 2 years of my life going through hell and am very interested in getting out of the city. I've actually looked at a few places up there with my real estate agent last year. I feel very confident this is the move I want to make, but the old paranoid me just NEEDS to do more research. I also want to spend more time up there this year. Something like pitching in a few bucks to the locals that run a B&B or someone renting a cottage short term for cheap (yeah lol I know) on weekdays to get more of a feel for it all. It looks all dreamy in my head, but damn those deer fly and thttp://forums.mtbr.com/forum.phpicks! (yes I read the thread)

Anything you guys and gals care to share please do so.

    As always, PATIA!

Right near Parry Sound is the Nordic Trails which are very cool.
About an hour from PS is Torrance Barrens and the EPIC Buckwallow Center.

BTW, just use Trailforks to find trails. https://www.trailforks.com/region/pa...1&m=trailforks

Yes thank you for the reminder about Trail Forks. Alex at RSD Bikes showed me that a short while back and I had forgotten about it.

Ya know?!?!?! I've been watching your pics/posts for years (not a stalker, promise! lol). They always pleasantly remind me of the few times I was actually happy as a kid, being up in "God's/cottage country".
