New question here. looking for new tire

Am making the rounds at the local LBS's trying to locate a set of Mitsubishi Heats...2.1 front, 1.95 rear. MEC has them in 2.5 but these are too fat to fit through the fork and chain stay. These tires are perfect for the sand box up here but am told that they may be discontinued. As plan B...does anyone know of a tire that works as well in sand? (and that is available around TO)

I'm on the IRC serac I run the 2.1 front and rear but the tire is available in 1.95. I've found it's good at Durham forest (very sandy) and in the Don. I like it because it's versitile and i hate swapping tires for conditional riding.

thanks, will check them out. The Kenda Karma Pros that came on the bike just spin in dry, fluffy sand, especially on the climbs and i would hate to switch the Heats from the hardtail

i like a 1.95 rear for traction (and is a bit lighter) but the 2.1 front provides a float when hitting sand on the descents, i would go with a fatter front but my fork limits me to 2.3 on a perfectly true rim

    thanx
